Summary
This part-time position is located within IQuESt, the Center for
Innovations in Quality, Effectiveness and Safety. We are the
largest center for Health Services Research in the Southwest. We
conduct high-quality scientific research that improves the health
of patients across the nation, by helping to ensure the
patient-centered delivery of scientific discoveries. We are seeking
someone who is responsible for managing sleep actigraphy data
collection, processing and analysis for a PCORI-funded study aimed
at improving sleep hygiene in hospitalized patients over the age of
70. In addition, this position requires professional license (e.g.,
Licensed Psychologist) to practice in the state of Texas to treat
patients with sleep disorders in the behavioral sleep service at
BCM Sleep Medicine Clinic.
Job Duties
• Treat patients with sleep disorders in BCM Sleep Medicine
Clinic - Behavioral Sleep Practice and document visits in Epic
EHR.
• Assists with providing hospital staff with training or
education on the use and maintenance of research-grade
actigraphy.
• Closely collaborate with study personnel at Houston Methodist
Hospital for the purpose of enrolling participants, answering
technological questions about the devices, collecting data, and
downloading and maintenance of data.
• Responsible for data validation, cleaning, and analysis.
• Provide monthly updates to the research team on data collected
and preliminary findings.
Work locations will vary with tasks assigned. Requires travel to
Houston Methodist Hospital Main Campus, Sugar Land, West, and
Baytown. Primary work can be conducted remotely but must be able to
visit each campus as needed to provide support to research and
nursing staff. Clinical faculty practice will occur at BCM McNair
campus in the Sleep Medicine Clinic (suite 8a).
Minimum Qualifications
• Education Required: Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or related
field.
• Experience Required: Two years of relevant work experience with
a proven track record in actigraphy or other objective sleep
measures.
• Certification/Licenses/Registration: Licensed Psychologist in
the State of Texas, Diplomate in Behavioral Sleep Medicine
preferred.
