Management Analyst (Finance)

Description JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: As part of the Finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Management Analyst performs a wide variety of routine and complex accounting, financial analysis, record-keeping, auditing, cash management, administrative and technical functions associated with the day-to-day fiscal activity for the city. The position works collaboratively with other departments and the accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and purchasing functions within the finance department to accomplish the mission of the finance department. Examples of Duties ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: For purposes of 42 USC 12101: 1. Performs a variety of complex clerical and administrative tasks, some of which are confidential in nature (e.g. prepares Department correspondence, acts as public liaison, types letters/documents, photocopies/scans, designs forms, greets the public, performs data entry, maintains records in accordance with retention schedules, answers phones, receives/sends mail, statistical and complex report preparation, etc.).

Conducts various surveys, gathers, interprets, analyses, and prepares data for studies, reports and recommendations; prepares a variety of studies, reports and related information for decision making purposes; prepares results in support of a variety of projects; enters and retrieves technical information from a computer in order to perform research, update records, processes transactions or responds to requests for information. 3.

Assists the Payroll Administrator with various tasks (reviewing hours, updating records, etc.) during the payroll cycle to ensure the accuracy of payroll-related payments. 4. Assists the Purchasing Administrator with various tasks (purchase orders, bids, contract processing, etc.) and serves as the backup in the position's absence.

5. Assists with various tasks related to the City's utility billing cycle to ensure the accuracy of billing and collection (updates parcel database, processes billing statements, applies penalties, answers customer questions, etc.). 6.

Performs customer service in person and over the phone. 7. Maintains licenses and certifications as required, if any.

8. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance. 9.

Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 10. Performs other duties as required.

(5%) Typical Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:One (1) year certificate from an accredited college or technical school, Associate degree or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school (preferred) and four (4) to five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative experience, which includes some experience interacting with high level officials and managers; or any combination of training, education, or experience which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Valid State of Ohio Driver's License and the ability to maintain insurability under the City's vehicle insurance policy; Notary Public preferred.
