Overview
• The Sponsor oversees a portfolio of applications, including cloud-based and physical systems, with a focus on AWS, Oracle, SharePoint, and web-based solutions.
• Support is required in data architecture to develop secure data solutions, analyze system requirements, and implement data migration strategies.
• The portfolio includes several custom production applications such as:
• A repository for internal document search and discovery.
• A workflow tool enabling research, disposition, and candidate nomination.
• A knowledge management tool for centralized search and discovery.
• Key responsibilities include:
• Developing data and metadata policies for structural design and data integration.
• Monitoring industry trends in database technology.
• Providing technical recommendations to the Sponsor.
• Overseeing database design, evaluation, and support for major systems.
• Conducting performance evaluations, risk analysis, and financial feasibility studies.
• Leading database structural design and data model planning for optimal integration and performance.
• Resolving complex problems related to data infrastructure.
Qualifications
• Experience in data architecture.
• Understanding of database structure principles.
• Experience in data modeling, design, SQL development, and database administration.
• Expertise in data visualization, migration, and modeling.
• Proficiency with relational database management systems (DBMS).
• Experience with SQL Server and DBMS software.
• Knowledge of database and cloud computing design, architectures, and data lakes.
• Experience in configuring and administering enterprise-level data stores, ETL/ELT methods, and data transport.
• Ability to gather and analyze system requirements.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Proficiency in Java and Python programming languages.
• Experience with Linux, Unix, Solaris, and Windows.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and JIRA.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment, manage changes, and provide effective solutions.
• Experience in systems development, including the system development lifecycle, project management, and design/testing techniques.
NICE TO HAVE
• Experience with Sponsor networks, systems, and services.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and storage technologies (RDS, DynamoDB, S3).
• Knowledge of database technologies like Oracle, SQLServer, and Postgres.
• Experience with Oracle databases.
• Experience in a full-stack environment.
• Familiarity with automation tools such as Gradle and Maven.
• Experience developing system prototypes and proof of concept.
• Knowledge of the Sponsor's authentication and authorization processes.
• Experience supporting enterprise-level production systems.
• Ability to brief technical topics to non-technical audiences.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• AWS certification or other relevant certifications.
