Role Description
The Strategic Planning and Operations will play a pivotal role in supporting the SVP of Portfolio Growth Strategy (PGS) and the PGS leadership team. This individual will lead cross-functional project teams, providing strategic guidance and ensuring alignment with the company's objectives. They will be responsible for driving key PGS deliverables for Petcare (Quarterly Executive Reviews (Presidents Review), USLT Performance Meetings, Strategy and Operating Plan Milestones, Key Petcare projects that span across the portfolio). This role will be managing key leadership meetings, including agenda setting, scheduling, and the distribution of materials. Additionally, they will oversee the creation and dissemination of meeting notes and action items, ensuring that meeting objectives are met and follow-ups are effectively managed.
In this role, the colleague will also lead project management for internal events and strategic initiatives, such as townhalls, leadership and team meetings, and long-range planning processes. The role requires fostering effective communication and collaboration among internal stakeholders, managing the master PGS calendar, and ensuring smooth information flow within the team. Responsibilities
Reports to the SVP of Portfolio Growth Strategy and partners closely with the PGS leadership team. This person will lead collaboratively through influence and direct, as appropriate, cross-functional project teams and be a trusted advisor to the SVP of Portfolio Growth Strategy. Accountable for agenda, scheduling, collating presentation materials, distributing agendas and pre-reads, taking notes, ensuring meeting objectives are met, creating, and distributing meeting notes and action items and managing the cadence for key leadership meetings. (e.g., PGS LT, TA Touch point) Lead the project management for internal event planning (e.g., PGS townhalls, leadership offsite), strategic initiatives (e.g. President's review, Marketing competence platform), and governance processes for Petcare (e.g. Strategic and financial long-range planning). Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of strategic initiatives. Lead and manage assigned cross-functional projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Foster effective internal communication and collaboration among internal stakeholders within Petcare. Management of master PGS calendar including meetings, events, and engagements. (e.g. performance check-ins, Op Plan, National Sales Meeting, summer POAs/manager's meetings, PGS LT meetings, TA/Portfolio Leads weekly meetings) Manage information flow and ensure appropriate internal team communications. Responsible for budget and expense management for PGS operations, creating purchase orders, and reconciling invoices within scope of budget and SOW. Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in strategy, operations, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in developing and executing strategic initiatives
• Ability to prioritize projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to travel internal and external meetings, conventions (~20%).
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal communications skills; ability to interact with and influence Senior Management, peers and other functions with confidence and conviction.
• Skills: Strong leadership, project management, and analytical skills; excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Excel) and with analytical tools (e.g., Tableau, etc.).
