Würstbar is a high volume, fast paced, gastro pub in Downtown Jersey City. We are currently looking a strong daytime line cook who can work independtly on the line, setup and assist in the prep and organization that will ensure the PM crew a flawless dinner service.
Lunch is a slower service so being able to multitask is crucial to ensure, lunch guests have the best experience, and the necerrsary prep for the evening is completed. The position is a Mon-Fri schedule, 9am-5pm. The occasianal nights and weekends will occur to help cover other line cooks when needed.
Responsibilities
• Setting up the kitchen line daily
• Handling food items to minimize waste
• Knowledgeable of equipment, chemicals and safety practices
• Accountable for food safety guidelines per Dept of Health
• Ability to learn, understand, and to execute recipes
• Prep work during slower hours
• Organization and cleaning of equipment, stations and kitchen.
Requirements
• Minimum of 6month - 1+ year line cook experience
• Saturday and Sunday Night availability may be required in an event we need coverage
• Solid knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and knife handling
• ServSafe certification preferred.
