Financial Analyst

Our Financial Analyst plays a key role in bringing that vision to life.

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for the ad-hoc financial modeling and analysis that will collaborate with various functional stakeholders to enable better data driven decision making across the organization. Additionally, the organizational steward for idea collection and innovation management. Specifically, this involves an analysis of the opportunities, risks, strengths, and weaknesses, as well as the derivation of important issues of the future and the purpose and vision of what we want to achieve with innovation. Finally, the role will manage the finances of other adjacent organizational assets and communicate with outside management firms which will compile monthly and quarterly reporting for executive management.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions
• Build financial models that will include measuring the economic opportunity, risk and mitigation factors, and working capital and cash flow that scope out the financial justification for new business opportunities.
• Coordinate all process steps and tasks that are responsible for achieving innovation objectives as well as support innovation projects from the beginning to the end and then hand it over to the operative business.
• Partner with Director, Innovation, to build and improve the organization’s innovation process. Including: defining the best ways to communicate innovation progress updates, create reports and dashboards, and update executive leadership and other internal project stakeholders.
• Responsible for monthly and quarterly reports and analysis.
• Help build a culture that fosters innovative thinking and work with core business teams to uncover new opportunities to move the organization forward.
• As the subject matter expert, make sound assumptions to solve complex problems. Identify inefficiencies or problems in current processes and present solutions and tangible actions to build structure to improve process.
• Work with BI team to gather data and analytics insights to make, measure and support business decisions for the organization.
• Success in this role will require collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Exploring, identifying and evaluating opportunities will be at the core of the position and will require strong relationships and an understanding of all sports industry functions.
• Work on all the new ventures for the hockey team.
• Source new ways to drive effectiveness and efficiency in things we do every day, while also identifying and vetting new ideas that can turn into products and services that fans will love.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification
• A college degree or MBA strongly preferred.

Knowledge & Experience
• Three years of financial modeling experience required.
• Knowledge of hockey and the sports and entrainment industry preferred.

Work Conditions
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed for games and events.
• Travel up to 10-15%, as needed.
• Work is primarily sedentary in nature.
• Physical requirements include sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, lifting, grasping, etc.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
