Data Engineer - R2894-6334 at Blue Cross of Idaho in Meridian, Idaho, United States Job Description Blue Cross of Idaho is seeking a Data Engineer I/II to assist in leading the design, development, implementation, documentation and support of Business Intelligence solutions. They provide technical leadership and consulting for business users and IT professionals on the design, development and utilization of BI tools, technologies, and processes. This person will research, implement, engineer, configure, monitor, manage, patch and troubleshoot software systems, applications, technologies and/or the technical infrastructure. Required Experience: Experience: 2 years' design or development of software applications, systems, technology infrastructure, or related experience Required Education - Must meet the above required experience and one of the below educational requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or closely related field of study or equivalent work experience (Two years' relevant work experience is equivalent to one year college) Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or closely related field of study + 2 years additional experience (Two years' relevant work experience is equivalent to one year college) International Degree equivalency Applicable certification(s) as defined by the leader + 2 years additional experience Knowledge & Skills: SQL script writing/troubleshooting UAT Data mapping Excel Skills As a Data Engineer you may: Monitor application performance by anticipating and correcting operational issues before occurrence. Translating business requirements into technical requirements during refinement Create, troubleshoot and maintain written procedures Develop tools and/or scripts to support and improve current software, systems, or technology builds and release process and continuous integration, and delivery initiatives. Automate software deployment processes and develop automation tools. Ensure the integrity of the builds and artifacts. Create test processes and procedures used to ensure that software operates within defined requirements. Implement test plans, automation, and validation strategies. Develop and maintain automated test scripts to reduce repetitive manual testing. Participate in full development lifecycle including requirements analysis and design. Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements. Support, maintain, and document software functionality. Analyze code to find causes of errors and revises programs. May review solution performance and continually assess health of software, systems, and/or technologies. Tracks and drives awareness to operational and technical risks.
