Data Engineer (Databricks/AWS)

Our client, an industry leader in media and entertainment, has an excellent opportunity for a Data Engineer to work on a contract-to-hire opportunity. Work will be a hybrid on-site/remote schedule in Burbank, CA. The Data Engineer participates in all phases of the Data Engineering life cycle and will independently and collaboratively write project requirements, architect solutions, and perform data ingestion development and support duties.

Responsibilities of the Data Engineer (Databricks/AWS):

• Use the Databricks platform to build and deploy data engineering workflows, machine learning models, analytics dashboards, and more

Requirements of the Data Engineer (Databricks/AWS):
• Experience with Databricks/EMR/Spark, Snowflake, and/or Airflow.
• Experience implementing and reporting on business key performance indicators in data warehousing environments
• Experience with AWS Cloud services
• Experience using analytic SQL, working with traditional relational databases and/or distributed systems (Snowflake or Redshift)
• Experience programming languages (e.g. Python, Pyspark)
• Experience with data orchestration/ETL tools (Airflow, Nifi)
• Strong understanding of data modeling principles including Dimensional modeling, data normalization principles.
• Good understanding of SQL Engines and able to conduct advanced performance tuning.

Preferred Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
