Position Overview:
Develop and deploy the Hunter Douglas motorized window coverings suite of internal use mobile applications. Using best practices and patterns for Software Engineering, deliver to internal Product Managers, Contract Manufacturing, Fabrication and developers a top tier experience for building, fabricating and testing motorized window coverings that seamlessly integrates with accessory endpoints, business applications and cloud services for optimal performance, reliability, quality and technical support.
What you'll do
• Work closely with colleagues over multiple disciplines to identify and plan for new features
• Develop application programming interfaces (APIs) to support mobile functionality
• Remain up-to-date with terminology, concepts and best practices for coding mobile apps
• Implement testing procedures to reduce bugs
• Work with IT and others to establish and maintain essential elements for DevOps
• Deliver an intuitive and robust experience to insure a reliable and repeatable fabrication process for high end window coverings
• Quickly resolve in-field quality issues
• This position coordinates with a team of highly skilled engineers creating industry-leading motorized, connected, automated, shading products and accessories for Hunter Douglas.
• This position allows you a chance to be in a foundational role where you will largely influence the direction of and have an immediate impact on the business.
• All other responsibilities as deemed necessary by management.
Who you are
• Expert knowledge of creating native apps for Android and iOS using React
• Expert knowledge of Firebase / GCP development and data storage solutions
• Expert knowledge of REST and BLE
• Proven Ability to deliver apps using reusable, testable and efficient code
• Familiarity with AppCenter, GitLab or equivalent
• Solid Knowledge of Agile development methodology
• Solid Knowledge of Git version control
• Experience with development and delivery into app stores required. 4+ years job experience in an area related to mobile app development required.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science is highly desired
