Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance & Data Analytics, the Business Analyst will act as a bridge across a number of functional areas, which will require working closely with the accounting/finance team, analytics team, investment teams, and fundraising teams, as well as members of senior management.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Work with Private Equity investment team to prepare quarterly valuations and projections for each investment.
• Manage and track cash activity between the Funds and their investments on an ongoing basis in order to calculate performance information and ensure accuracy within the valuation waterfalls.
• Aggregate, manipulate, and analyze financial and non-financial data from a variety of sources, including operating partner/portfolio company reporting, Argosy general ledger and other systems, industry/market studies, etc.
• Play a key role in supporting the quarterly reporting and audit processes, particularly with respect to valuations.
• Provide support for new investor due diligence questionnaires and related processes.
• Prepare reports and analyses for use by the fundraising team for each strategy.
• Develop and maintain a variety of inter-dependent financial projection models across each of the investment strategies.
• Work towards developing and maintaining a variety of dashboard and reporting solutions using a combination of SaaS solutions, Power BI, and Excel.
• Assist in maintaining monthly financial information provided by portfolio companies to ensure that information in Chronograph (the SaaS-based Asset Management solution used by the Private Equity strategy) is up-to-date.

Requirements:
• BS in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. CPA is a plus
• 3-7+ years of related work experience, with strong accounting/financial knowledge around private equity or other investment company transactions, as well as experience performing valuations of private equity investments held in an investment company structure. transactions.
• Experience with multiple categories of investments (e.g. distressed debt, secondaries) or with SBA-registered funds is a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft suite of products.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel (preferably including PowerQuery / PowerPivot)
• Working knowledge of Power BI (including DAX) and experience with data visualization is a plus.
• Experience building and maintaining complex financial models (generally in Excel) utilizing both bottom-up and top-down approaches as necessary.
• Experience with developing multi-year budgets and performing periodic reforecasts and budget vs. actual analyses.
• Experience with AllVue, Chronograph, or Pereview is a plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing accuracy.
