This position may have the potential to travel up to 20% dependent on business needs.RESPONSIBILITIESDesign and build large scale datasets for a wide range of consumer needs.Build, test, and implement highly efficient data pipelines using a variety of techniques.Ensure consistent use of standard data structures.Analyze new data sources to understand quality, availability, and content.Write technical design documentation.Create and execute unit tests.Support QA team during testing.Other duties as assigned by manager.RELATIONSHIPSInternal:Insights & Analytics Leaders and Associates, Cross-Functional members of US Foods.External:None.WORK ENVIRONMENTRemote:This role is fully remote, and the associate is expected to perform assigned responsibilities from a home-based environment.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMust possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering or other relevant area.Must possess proficiency in one or more of the following:SQLSnowflake or other cloud data platformsPythonAWS (especially Lambda, S3)Linux / bash / shell scriptingFamiliarity with CI/CD tools (Chef, Jenkins, Bamboo, Git/Bitbucket); supporting self-service reporting and analytics; working with structured and semi-structured data.Proven ability to model data for reporting and analytics needs.Proven ability to analyze and understand existing processes and code.Works and communicates effectively with all levels of management.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.Must work well within team-oriented environments.Up to 5% of travel may be needed for business reasons.EDUCATIONBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPreferred experience with Airflow or Dagster as orchestration layer; API development and integration experience; Tableau or Sigma Computing for BI / reporting; dbt.The following information is provided in accordance with certain state and local laws. Compensation depends on experience, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. In Colorado, the expected compensation for this role is between $62,300 and $83,100. In New York, the expected compensation for this role is between $73,500 and $98,000. In California, the expected compensation for this role is between $69,900 and $93,100. In Washington, the expected compensation for this role is between $69,900 and $93,100. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan bonus.
