Market Access, Payer Regional Account Manager (Remote- West Coast)

Job Description Summary:

The Market Access, Payer Regional Account Manager is a field-based position that is responsible for gaining and maintaining broad coverage, access and reimbursement for PTC Therapeutics products across key regional commercial and state Medicaid payers. This includes interacting with all levels of regional payers including Pharmacy Directors, Medical Directors, Clinical, Quality, and Population Health. RAM's will collaborate closely with Market Access Leadership, Sales, Marketing, Patient Services, Medical Affairs, Insights and Analytics and working closely with other cross-functional members of the commercial team. The Market Access, Regional Account Manager serves as the lead contact for payer-related account management, clinical and business activities.
The incumbent works cross-functionally with internal departments and external resources on
regional accounts and access related issues.

The Market Access, Regional Account Manager ensures the adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate.Job Description:

Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain deep understanding of PTC Therapeutics product disease state, clinical data, commercialization strategy and further customer engagement by providing deep insights/expertise around the disease continuum and customer insight on trends, market conditions and changes in formulary/medical policies.
• Serves as the internal expert and primary point of contact on all payer related issues within the assigned region(s); ensures relevant and timely payer coverage information is communicated to appropriate internal and external stakeholders; provides input and feedback regarding contracting strategies and ensures that all contracting governance requirements are met.
• Develop relationships with key pharmacy and medical management decision makers within key regional accounts.
• Develop and execute Business Plans in coordination with cross-functional leaders (Sales, Medical Affairs, Marketing, Market Access and Patient Services).
• Leverage and champion core market access resources and sales planning tools.
• Support Medical/Patient Engagement/Marketing teams interactions with customers to include consultation and collaboration with stakeholders across the organization to develop patient-centric solutions and relationship-building with peers.
• Support the National Account Directors to develop and communicate clear and effective pull-through initiatives that will drive successful results through collaboration with Sales in alignment with the Regional Business Directors.
• Collaborate and consult with functional PTC Therapeutics team leaders to optimize business performance and/or manage complex business risks and issues.
• Engage with PTC Cares Services team to foster shared and timely communications regarding coverage challenges and/or market trends.
• Collaborate with the Specialty Pharmacy distribution network and works closely with Sales/Market Access teams to implement the distribution strategy for SP's.
• Review formulary access/coverage continuously to be disseminated to key internal team members.
• Conduct business with the highest compliance and integrity standards and in compliance with all applicable local, state and federal laws.
• Performs other tasks and assignments as needed and specified by management.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a related business discipline and a minimum of 8+ years of demonstrated success with account management across commercial and government payers.
• Rare Disease experience preferred.
• Extensive experience of the US payer environment, payer market dynamics, payer marketing principles, and the market access decision-making process.

Special knowledge or skills needed and/or licenses or certificates required.
• Extensive customer relationships with regional plan pharmacy and medical directors
• Working knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the pharmaceutical reimbursement process and insurance coverage.
• Ability to influence without direct authority and anticipate issues and respond quickly, flexibly and creatively to solve problems and address commercial market challenges.
• Must reside in geographic area of responsibility.
• Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding quantitative and qualitative targets.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, in a fast-paced team environment consisting of internal and external team members.
• Excellent written, organizational, and verbal communication skills are necessary.
• Proficient in MS Office products including PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Special knowledge or skills and/or licenses or certificates preferred.
• Experience supporting the commercialization of an orphan, rare disease and/or specialized drug(s).
• Experience working in a small but fast growing, entrepreneurial sales environment.
