Software Engineer

We are searching for a Software Engineer to work full time (35 hours per week) Monday through Friday. The Software Engineer develops and maintain in-house software and databases, enhancing the efficiency and functionality of our operations. This role includes programming internal data systems, supporting SQL databases, creating custom reports, and ensuring data connections to external APIs for seamless integration. This is an opportunity for an experienced software engineer to impact public health directly through technical innovation and collaboration

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain internal software and databases, ensuring data accessibility and reliability.
• Utilize Summit County Public Health's Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for system design, development, and deployment.
• Provide ongoing system maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and support the help desk.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate project progress, offer recommendations, and drive improvements.
• Maintain thorough documentation and deliver regular status reports to stakeholders.
• Stay current with development tools, participate in training, and apply best practices in programming.

Qualifications
• High school diploma with certifications/experience, or Bachelor's in Computer Science (preferred); 3-5 years in software development.
• Proficiency in SQL, programming, Google Suite, Microsoft Office; strong coding and troubleshooting abilities.
• Valid Ohio driver's license and insured vehicle.

Salary: $32.88 per hour
