Overview and Responsibilities
This position is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the university’s software application repository (heavily focused on our SIS and CRM) by implementing best practices and ensuring proper staffing and effective management of the application team. The Director of Enterprise Applications will also plan and coordinate the processes required to deliver user applications and systems essential for business operations. With strong communication and problem-solving skills, this individual will provide guidance and support to user groups on issues related to mission-critical information and software systems.
• Manage and provide direction for the application team to support university processes
• Coordinate with module managers to prioritize projects and ensure timely completion
• Work closely with module managers to ensure alignment and consistency in processes
• Gather user feedback to continuously enhance and upgrade our systems
• Support quality assurance efforts, process logic optimization, and data processing activities
• Ensure applications meet business and end user requirements
• Identify and resolve system issues, including daily troubleshooting, project integrations, and implementing programming changes
• Ensure compliance with rules established by data governance
• Assess, install, configure, and deploy new applications, system software, products, and upgrades or enhancements to existing applications across the university
• Create and distribute training materials and documentation for end users, conduct training sessions as needed
• Manage good working relationships with vendors
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Strong leadership skills to guide multiple committees and teams
• Effective communication and interaction with a diverse community of faculty, students, and staff
• Proficient in project management, including task prioritization and resource management to meet deadlines
• SQL programming skills
• Ability to foster a cohesive and collaborative team environment
• Strong creative problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail and commitment to follow-through
• Skillful at managing multiple priorities and competing time demands
• Proficient in using and interpreting job-related terminology
• Capable of working independently as well as part of a team
• Willingness to provide occasional off-hour and weekend support for special events
• Ability to travel between campus locations
