THE ROLE
We’re looking for a National Account Manager to join our Retail Beauty Team. In this role you will be managing our category-leading beauty brands in terms of sales and customer service. Responsibilities will include assessing account needs and monitoring all business, handling multiple tasks within the account, establishing strong relationships with a thorough understanding of the retailer to maximize potential. This person will lead the identification, development, and execution of strategies to deliver key volume drivers.
This position reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing. You will collaborate with several cross functional support teams including, but not limited to, Customer Service, Demand Planning, Trade/Customer Marketing, and Brand Marketing.
The ideal candidate will be expected to create a strategic vision and manage the tactical implementation of the Wella portfolio. Joint Business Planning, Line Reviews, Promotional Execution, Financial Management, Business Analysis, Forecasting, Trade Spend Management and Strategic Relationship Building.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Establishing an annual join business plan (JBP) and driving alignment to the plan both internally and externally
• Leading the strategy, tactics, and execution in all JBP activities
• Analytic management of the business, utilizing all tools available to understand key drivers of the category and the Wella portfolio
• Discovery of fact-based sales opportunities to drive consumption growth
• Enhancement of Wella’s position through retailer collaboration and partnership
• Close partnership with inventory management and demand planning teams to build and maintain an accurate inventory forecast
• Management of the elements of the P & L Scorecard, working to improve status at every level (reduce days outstanding, reduce returns, minimize expenditures on account specific programs, etc)
• Development of promotional strategy, presentations and events to maximize sales opportunities
• Management of weekly sales reporting and monthly and quarterly business reviews
• Delivering upon volume, share and ROI targets
• Driving distribution, shelving, pricing, and promotion support to optimize spend
YOUR PROFILE
The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial and wants to manage their business, take risks, and think outside of the box. The successful candidate must have experience working with a Canadian National Retail Account (Walmart | Shoppers Drug Mart)
KEY REQUIREMENTS
• 5 years of experience working in a CPG sales environment
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to tell a cohesive, fact-based sales story
• Creative, outgoing, and dynamic
• Passionate about what you do and self-motivated
• High level of analytical capability, experience working with Nielsen & POS
• Strong leadership and team-oriented skills
