Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Laborer to join our Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) team. This role is crucial to supporting our drilling operations, which involve underground drilling, conduit pulling, site preparation, and more. As a Laborer, you will assist the HDD Driller and the rest of the crew from the beginning to the end of various outdoor plant projects.
This position offers a great opportunity for individuals with construction or utility experience who are looking to grow in the HDD field.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with setting up and operating HDD equipment on job sites.
• Dig bore pits, backfill, and prepare the job site for drilling.
• Help with the pulling back of conduit and the installation of fiber through the conduit.
• Set hand holes and assist with tie-ins.
• Assist in core drilling, pot holing, and building penetrations.
• Support with equipment operation, including fluid level checks, vehicle inspections, and maintenance.
• Communicate with the crew to ensure efficient project completion.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and procedures.
• Perform additional tasks such as backfilling, seeding, and site clean-up.
Requirements:
• Experience in construction or utility labor (HDD experience preferred but not required).
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic, ability to follow instructions, and attention to safety.
• Ability to lift heavy materials, perform physically demanding tasks, and work in a team environment.
• A valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus).
• Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, background check, and physical exam.
• Availability to work long hours, including weekends if needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with underground utilities and directional drilling projects.
• Knowledge of potholing and backfilling processes.
Salary and Benefits:
• Base Salary: $42,500 per annum
