Assistant Chief Financial Officer

Location: Gallatin, TN

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Assistant Chief Financial Officer (ACFO ) to join our partner hospital in Gallatin, TN. This is a key leadership role within the financial management team, supporting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and overseeing various aspects of the hospital's financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Management:
• Plan, organize, and coordinate the hospital's financial operations, including revenue cycle management, budgeting, and expense control.
• Develop and implement departmental goals, plans, and standards in alignment with the organization's objectives.
• Prepare, monitor, and evaluate departmental budgets, ensuring compliance with allocated funding.
• Provide adequate cash flow forecasting to meet operational and capital expenditures.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to the organization's rate structure.
• Investment Management:
• Manage and safeguard the hospital's investments within established guidelines.
• Reporting & Auditing:
• Oversee the Finance Department's activities to ensure the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports, including internal and external monthly financial statements, and annual audits.
• Plan, coordinate, and prepare for year-end audits by the public accounting firm and third-party auditors.
• Regulatory Compliance:
• Stay abreast of all regulations and standards (financial, billing, and reporting) to ensure compliance with governmental/regulatory agencies and third-party payers.
• Decision Support:
• Provide direction and guidance in the implementation and ongoing operations of the decision support system.
• Staff Management:
• May serve as Chief Staffing Officer, managing the labor-management process.
• Plan and monitor staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
• Create and foster an environment that encourages professional growth.

Qualifications:
• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance is required.
• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is preferred.
• Experience:
• Five years of for-profit hospital experience and at least three years in a supervisory role.
• Licensure: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is preferred.
• Skills:
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
