Job Role: Digital Learning Consultant
MPA are currently recruiting a Digital Learning Consultant for our public service client based in Knockbraken.
Location – Knockbraken
Hours of Work – 37.5 hours per week
Salary - £22.37 per hour
Contract – 5 months
Your Duties:
1. Operational Delivery
• To identify appropriate desktop and bespoke systems to support digital and simulation-based education development, advising the CEC Senior Leadership Team prior to appropriate procurement.
• To identify the learning and development needs associated with procured desktop and bespoke systems to support digital and simulation-based education development.
• Design, develop, deliver and review digital learning solutions in collaboration with key programme contributors, including but not limited to training programmes, e-Learning, training videos, podcasts, multimedia learning components and mobile ready resources such as Apps.
• To work in partnership with CEC staff and HSC Leadership Centre to support the management of the Clinical Education Centres element of the HSC Learning Management System.
• To extract and analyse digital programme activity from the regional Learning Management System, highlighting trends to line manager and/or programme leads as appropriate.
• To support CEC staff and external stakeholders by designing and developing a range of digital solutions to support improvement and innovation.
• To oversee the operational functionality of digital systems and equipment which support education delivery, troubleshooting as appropriate.
• To oversee digital and simulation equipment management, including procurement, licencing and maintenance.
2. Development and Innovation
• To contribute to the development and implementation of the Clinical Education Centre Business Plan.
• To plan, develop, implement and review a range of training initiatives and resources to upskill CEC staff and programme contributors in digital capabilities.
• Lead on the effective implementation and development of an agreed Digital Model for the CEC and ensure it is bench-marked against best practice guidelines.
• Provide guidance in the use of digital learning technologies to support innovation, quality improvement, research and evidence-based practice.
• Utilise storyboarding and prototypes to support the development of digital learning concepts.
3. Communication and Information Management
• To liaise and build relationships within BSO and the wider digital education networks.
• To attend internal and external meetings and working groups relevant to the role
• Contribute to the relevant regional digital and simulation working groups as appropriate.
• Contribute to other relevant initiatives within the CEC.
• Assist in the marketing and branding of the Clinical Education Centre and support the management of the Clinical Education Centres social media communication channels.
4. Quality
• To assist the Clinical Education Centre and its stakeholders to monitor and improve education methodologies to meet changing education requirements.
• To maintain records of training delivered by the CEC Digital Team and report on training uptake and attendances as required.
• To monitor and evaluate the quality of digital education and digital skills training being delivered and to provide regular reports and recommendations to the Clinical Education Centre Senior Leadership Team as required.
• Adhere to the Business Services Organisation’s ICT infrastructure and governance framework, ensuring that policies and procedures relevant to digital governance legislative requirements are adhered to.
5. Financial and Resource Management
• To record information regularly and in a timely manner to meet the information requirements of the Clinical Education Centre and its customers.
• To organise and prioritise workload in order to meet key performance targets and customer requirements.
• To ensure that all work time is recorded accurately in a timely manner and records are kept up to date and are easily accessible.
• To advise CEC staff on best practice use of technology which contributes to organisational performance, improvements and productivity within programmes.
• To draft business cases as required for senior management approval
Experience/ Qualifications
1. (a) Applicants must have a university degree or recognised professional qualification or equivalent/higher qualification in an ICT discipline and 3 years’ experience in a role related to leading on digital learning development and/or technology enhanced learning.
OR
Have 4 years’ experience working in an area of developing digital l learning/ technology enhanced learning resources for adult learners.
AND
• Experience of leading on the project management and design and development of innovative e-learning solutions for use within an educational environment.
