As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate & Investment Bank, Payments Technology, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a lead of a software engineering team, you lead the execution of software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product,
application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
Job responsibilities
• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
• Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
• Collect data and build data-pipes from various data sources, including databases, APIs, external data providers, batch and streaming sources(real time).
• Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications.
• Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
• Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
• Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced in one or more programming language(s) including Python, PySpark, Java
• Experience with data analysis and ability to determine appropriate tools and data patterns to perform data analysis (Data Discovery, Data Mining & Data processing)
• Good understanding distributed systems and knowledge of streaming technologies like Apache Kafka to handle and analyze data.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms like AWS & Azure and working knowledge of AWS Glue and EMR usage for Data processing.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
• Practical cloud native experience
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
• Strong skills in PySpark and Multi cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP.etc)
• Good to have knowledge of Databricks Lakehouse, Delta Lake, Delta live Tables (DLT)
• Experience in one or more of Spring boot / Micro Services / Kafka / Cassandra & API development
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
