We are seeking a motivated Software Engineer passionate about working in cloud-scale distributed systems spanning hundreds of thousands of nodes. The candidate will work on building and maintaining cloud services/software stack that monitor and manage cloud hardware – monitoring health of the cloud, taking smart actions on hardware health events and improving overall cloud hardware availability and performance. Towards this, the candidate would work on building software stack that works on and interacts with windows/linux-based systems.

Responsibilities
• Development of client and server-side REST-based web services
• Monitor, diagnose and repair of service health and performance in production
• Inter service communication via certificate/token-based authentication technologies
• Work with customers to learn live site issues and translate them into new feature asks or bug fixes

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledgeable in scripting languages
• M.S. in Computer Science with 2 years of development experience OR B.S in Computer Science with 4 years of development experience
• Experience in C# or other Object-oriented programing languages.
• Possess a sound understanding of fundamentals of Computer Science including algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design, multi-threading and distributed systems.
• Effective problem solving and design skills, with demonstrated passion for quality, performance, and service excellence.
• Good communications skills for effective collaboration and customer/partner correspondence
• Experience with Azure services and database query language such as SQL/kusto
Software Engineering IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $81,900 - $160,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $105,600 - $174,600 per year.
