Principal Scientist - Analytical Chemistry (MS-SPEC)

We are seeking a highly motivated Principal Scientist to join the Analytical Chemistry Group of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. located at Tarrytown, NY, which develops innovative mass spectrometry-related technologies to support Regeneron R&D programs. In this role you will lead analytical development of therapeutic protein drug candidates to support all stages of drug development, from early-stage candidate selections to late-stage regulatory submissions.
Job Duties: A Typical Day Might Look Like:
• Leads characterization of biotherapeutics, including monoclonal antibodies, bispecifics, adeno-associated virus and other biotherapeutic candidates
• Is accountable for the development of analytical strategies and methods to elucidate and determine the quality attributes, risk assessment and control strategies, including PTMs, product and process related impurities, especially for host cell proteins (HCPs), charge variants, LMW/HMW species, sequence variants, etc., to address emerging challenges;
• Provides analytical guidance and support for formulation development, upstream and downstream functional groups, manufacturing to solve real-time development issues in the process development and OOT/OOS investigations
This Role Might Be For You If You Have:
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Experience in composing regulatory submission documents and knowledge in the industry practice and regulatory mentorship on analytics development
• Passion in science with strong leadership and motivation of making contributions in a collaborative setting

This role requires PhD in chemistry, biochemistry or other related fields with a minimum of 3+ years of proven experience, and a record of publications in the field. A strong background in liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry with biopharma experience especially in protein therapeutics or AAV, RNA analytics is helpful. Expertise in mass spectrometry principles and applications for protein characterization and process development, with keen analytical and problem-solving skills, especially for Orbitraps, Triple-quadruple MS systems desired. Experience with analyzing trace amount samples such as single cell is good to have. Proficiency in LC and MS-related software, such as Xcalibur, MassLynx, MassHunter, Proteome Discoverer, Byonics, Skyline, Empower desired. Experience in DIA data analysis is a plus.

Salary Range (annually)

$124,200.00 - $202,800.00
