Programmatic Media Strategist

Job Purpose

The Programmatic Media Strategist will be the subject matter expert on BBC's programmatic ad offerings, spearheading programmatic recommendations, deal creation, and deal management. Acting as the primary point of contact for all non-guaranteed programmatic campaigns, this role will deliver best-in-class service to BBC Advertising clients, fostering deal extensions and renewals.

The Programmatic Media Strategist will:
• Serve as the primary contact for all programmatic non-guaranteed campaigns (PMPs/PAs).
• Set up, maintain, and optimize all non-guaranteed programmatic deals.
• Collaborate closely with the Director of Programmatic Sales, the Sales team, Media Planning, Ad Operations, Commercial Marketing, Inventory Management & Yield Operations, and Research to deliver successful campaigns and grow programmatic revenue.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Primary contact for clients and agencies after deal request is received
• Manage day-to-day programmatic operations, including deal set up, rule and deal optimizations, reporting, and troubleshooting
• Partner with the Sales team to help assist and recommend programmatic inventory, product, and targeting solutions
• Monitor deal health to ensure ongoing delivery and proactively identify issue
• Expert in SSPs (AdX, Magnite, Xandr, Index, PubMatic, etc.) and reporting platforms (Google Ad Manager, Adomik, DoubleVerify)
• Report out on revenue and performance to the Sales team and identify opportunities for upselling
• Collaborate with Commercial Marketing and the Director of Programmatic Sales on case studies
• Liaise with the Head of Inventory Management & Yield Operations to maximize up-funnel revenue from the OMP

Relationships

Building and maintaining strong internal and external relationships is essential for this role. The Programmatic Media Strategist will engage with clients, agencies, ad exchanges, DSPs, and various BBC networks. As a pivotal part of the BBC campaign experience, fostering these relationships is crucial for ensuring the smooth coordination and efficient delivery of programmatic campaigns.

Knowledge, Skills, Training, and Experience
• 2+ years of experience in a digital advertising environment, including 1+ years working with ad exchanges, agency trading desks, DSPs, or SSPs.
• Deep understanding of the programmatic ecosystem, with experience in ad optimization, SSPs, DSPs, and PMPs/PAs.
• Proficiency with reporting and data visualization tools such as Google Ad Manager, DoubleVerify, Tableau, and Adomik.
• Strong analytical, strategic, troubleshooting, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organization, prioritization, attention to detail, customer service, and time management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Highly motivated and proactive, with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple campaigns and tight deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $65,000 to $72,500 dependent on experience & market conditions. This range is not inclusive of a competitive bonus, flexible, hybrid working schedule & benefits including but not limited to: 100% BBCS covered medical & dental insurance, vision, & 401k match. The actual base salary offered depends on the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and geographic location of the position.
