Senior Financial Analyst
Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid)
Job Type: 3-Month Contract
Pay: $45-$50/hour
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our client. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, a deep understanding of financial and accounting concepts, and the capability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to critical financial analysis and cost recovery efforts within a dynamic and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop financial analytics and provide recommendations related to expense forecasting and recovery for regulatory proceedings.
• Analyze spending profiles and cost categories to assess the impact on financial results and future service costs.
• Review and analyze third-party testimonies, regulatory proposals, pleadings, and agreements; contribute to strategy development and the creation of new proposals.
• Serve as a witness, witness assistant, or subject matter expert for moderately complex cost recovery issues, including the preparation of testimony, workpapers, and discovery responses.
• Produce impactful analyses to support key workstreams, such as settlement negotiations and regulatory workshops.
• Create and maintain financial control files and regulatory adjustments to support filings and revenue requirement calculations.
• Implement, analyze, and develop expense regulatory values in compliance with relevant decisions and guidelines.
• Provide analytical support for regulatory compliance filings.
• Develop and deliver training to business partners on relevant processes and financial concepts.
• Prepare and present effective materials to leadership for decision-making and awareness of key issues.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including the development and documentation of processes, guidelines, standards, and models.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in financial analysis and accounting, with a strong understanding of financial concepts.
• Prior experience in a regulated environment is preferred; experience with rate cases is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite; familiarity with financial tools such as SAP is advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and persuasively.
