This role involves supporting senior associates, counsel, and partners in the Student Services and Disabilities Law Practice Group (SSDLPG). The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience and intense research, writing, and interpersonal skills.Duties and Responsibilities:Assist in providing legal advice and client representation on student services and disabilities-related matters.Conduct comprehensive legal research and draft legal documents, including briefs, motions, and memoranda.Support senior associates and partners with case preparation and strategy development.Participate in client meetings, consultations, and hearings, providing expert guidance on legal issues.Review and analyze educational policies and practices to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.Prepare and present oral arguments and written submissions in administrative and judicial proceedings.Collaborate with other legal professionals, including paralegals and administrative staff, to manage case loads and deadlines effectively.Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations related to student services and disabilities.Requirements:2-5 years of experience in a legal role, preferably within student services or disabilities law.Demonstrated ability to conduct legal research and draft high-quality legal documents.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.Proven track record of working collaboratively within a legal team.Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications:Licensed to practice law in the state of California.Skills:Excellent research and writing skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in legal research tools and software.High attention to detail and organizational skills.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Effective time management and project coordination skills.
