JOB SUMMARY :
The Manager of Project Management (MPM) will provide strategic direction and general oversight of customer projects through the entirety of their lifecycles. This includes developing and maintaining standards to represent Principle Services by establishing best-in-class project management methodologies and standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES :
Supervisory Responsibilities
• Coach and mentor members of the project management (PM) team and share knowledge of best practices.
• Hire and manage based on project staffing requirements in line with project needs, objectives, and company budget.
• Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
• Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
• Schedule, organize, and assign projects to members of the PM team.
• Oversee PMs for the delivery of projects/programs based on the KPIs for each project.
• Ensure project deliverables are coordinated with PMs, Accounting Analysts, Sales and Account Managers, Safety, Directors, and owners as defined within each project's contractual obligations.
• Solve problems by identifying and quickly resolving issues regarding staffing, quality, service delivery, and team financial performance.
• Continuously assess project management processes and methodologies.
• Identify areas for improvement and implement best practices to enhance project delivery.
• Uphold the core values, culture, and safety standards of Principle Services.
Monitor
Develop specific objectives and strategies to maintain effective organizational management of systems and information.
Monitor compliance in accordance with project policies and standards.
Monitor the project reporting requirements are being upheld.
Update the forecast and loading of the PM team on a monthly basis.
Other
Seek implementation efficiencies to meet or exceed the financial expectations established at the beginning of each project and for the program during each budget cycle.
Routinely host lessons learned meeting with both those within the PM team, and groups outside the direct team as well.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Minimum Qualifications
12+ years of experience in the areas of engineering, construction, and/or project management.
Direct management of multiple projects within the construction lifecycle simultaneously.
Bachelors Degree in engineering, construction management, business, or related field.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong decision-making and leadership skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs.
Detailed experience developing and managing budgets.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the construction of new and existing transmission, distribution facilities, battery energy storage systems, generation, or data center-type facilities.
Project Management Professional certification.
Must also have the following demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities
Ability to identify and resolve risks for the project and, most importantly, for the Safety of personnel
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy is critical
Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and training skills are essential while holding others accountable
Considerable skill in effective verbal and written communications
Highly motivated, positive attitude, disciplined, self-directed
