Spark Media are looking to expand their team and hire a full-time Development AP with proven experience creating factual entertainment and reality TV formats. The successful candidate will be: • An avid TV watcher with a special interest in non-scripted formats and be able to demonstrate a wide knowledge of what’s playing and slaying across all channels and networks. • Curious about the world we live in, able to identify trends, movements, organisations and communities that could form the basis of a great non-scripted TV idea. • Imaginative and creative, able to conjure up games, constructs and shapes that might breathe new life into familiar TV subjects. • Happy to contribute to / run brainstorming sessions on a wide variety of subjects, and also be able to self-manage and create solo. • Able to express their ideas clearly and with style, be that in written form, eye-catching thumbnails or in grabby tasters, sizzles and rip reels. Any existing talent, agent and/or commissioner relationships would be welcomed but are not critical to the role. Non-development production experience and the ability to self-shoot and edit would also be assets but are not essential. You and your ideas are the most important thing. As part of a small team, you’ll work directly to Spark’s Director of Development and would be required to be in our West London office at least 3 days a week. Initial contract for 3 months with a view to extend long term. Applicants must have proven, relevant experience working as a Development AP and be happy to enter the company at that level.
