The Role
We are seeking a talented Data Engineer who is excited to apply their skills in computer science, software engineering, databases, and distributed processing frameworks. If you have experience with Scala and Spark and want your work to contribute to systems that impact hundreds of thousands of users in healthcare, we'd love to meet you!
In this role, you will work on projects supporting the development of a next-generation analytics and reporting system for healthcare quality. Using tools like Spark, EMR, and AWS technologies, you will build data processing pipelines that extract valuable insights from extensive government datasets. You will be the go-to expert on your team for Spark, the Spark Engine, and the Spark Dataframe API. Key Responsibilities
Develop complex unit and integration tests for data processing code.
Collaborate with DevOps engineers on CI, CD, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Interpret specifications and translate them into test designs and test automation.
Conduct code reviews and develop processes to enhance code quality.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
5+ years of experience with Scala, Spark, the Spark Engine, and the Spark Dataset API.
2+ years of experience with Agile methodology.
2+ years of experience in data pipeline and data validation.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
Must reside and be authorized to work in the U.S.
Must have lived in the U.S. for three (3) out of the last five (5) years.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree with 3+ years of technical experience.
Experience in the healthcare industry with PHI/PII.
Experience with Federal Government contracting.
Expertise working as part of an Agile team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Prior experience working remotely full-time.

This is a remote position within the United States. Occasional travel for conferences or team collaboration may be required once a year. Please note that remote work must be performed within the U.S., and we maintain security protocols that include monitoring work locations and restricting access from foreign locations or personal VPN connections.
