Our challenge
We are seeking an experienced Java Lead to head our development teams, focusing on building and maintaining scalable microservices architecture and leveraging Kafka for real-time data streaming. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing both team responsibilities and hands-on development tasks, ensuring project milestones are met with high-quality deliverables.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Dallas, TX, Pittsburgh, PA is $110k - $120k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities :
• Lead a team of Java developers in designing, developing, and maintaining robust microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Work closely with the architecture team to design scalable systems and improve existing architecture.
• Implement and manage Kafka clusters, ensuring optimal performance for data streaming processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, QA, and DevOps to ensure seamless project execution.
• Maintain high standards of software quality by establishing best practices and habits within the development team.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and provide technical guidance and support.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to microservices and Kafka.
• Manage the team's deliverables, set goals, and conduct performance reviews.
• Stay abreast of emerging technology trends and incorporate them into the team's workflow where appropriate.
Requirements:
You are:
• 10 years of experience in Java development with a proven track record in microservices
• Handson experience in Java/J2EE application development.
• Hands-on with Spring boot, Microservices, Core Java, Kafka messaging and API experience
• Expertise in Java and J2EE technologies, microservices architecture, Spring Framework, Hibernate, and RESTful web services.
• Knowledge of enterprise application integration, middleware, and messaging technologies.
• Proficiency in database design and SQL with relational databases such as Oracle or MySQL.
• Experience with DevOps tools, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
