Sterling Trading Tech (STT), a rapidly growing US-based financial technology firm, is seeking a software engineer to maintain and enhance a variety of cutting-edge trading, market risk and financial systems used by clients worldwide. The candidate is expected to be a highly motivated individual who will be responsible for collaborating with a top-notch team of technologists in growing a world-class organization. The position is located in Chicago, Illinois and reports to the Risk Systems Architect.
Hybrid - 2 days a week in the Chicago office
Tasks and activities:
• In cooperation with more experienced colleagues, participates in designing a software solution within the existing technology stack
• Develops, tests and implements new software programs independently or in collaboration with a senior developer
• Participates in designing and updating software database. This includes, but is not limited to: software applications, websites, data communication processes, and user interfaces
• Required skills in Java, Java - jdk core, React, Python, SQL, Spring Boot
• Candidates with additional skills in container, serverless, and Cloud application development preferred
• Strong communication skills with both Serbian and US co-workers are critical in this role
• Tests, maintains and recommends software improvements to ensure functionality and achieve optimization
• Works on the analysis of new and existing code, works on its improvement and maintenance in coordination with colleagues and client requirements
• Tests solutions in the local environment
• Identifies ideas for improving system performance and impact availability
• Solves technical design issues
• Develops technical specifications and plans
• Analyzes user requirements and converts them into design documents
• Compiles timely, comprehensive and accurate documentation and / or reports upon request
• Possess and improve knowledge of technological achievements in industry
