We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Controller to join our consulting team in the Bay area. As a Senior Controller-Consultant, you will provide strategic financial guidance and expertise to our clients, manage accounting teams, and ensure seamless audit processes. This role requires a strong operational focus and hands-on experience in accounting. You should be comfortable speaking with board members and adept at navigating the complexities of financial management.
Compensation: $150K - $180K salary based on experience.
This role offers a hybrid work schedule, depending on the client's needs and preferences.
Responsibilities
• Oversee and manage the accounting teams, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to accounting principles.
• Conducted and managed audits to ensure compliance with accounting standards and identified areas for improvement.
• Perform financial analysis, prepare financial statements, and generate client financial reports.
• Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize clients' financial performance.
• Provide financial guidance and support to clients, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather financial information and resolve discrepancies or issues.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in finance and accounting.
• Train and mentor junior staff members and provide guidance on financial matters.
• Participate in client meetings and presentations to provide insights, recommendations, and solutions based on financial analysis.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
• CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Controller, preferably in a consulting firm, with a strong background in managing teams and audit processes.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and budgeting.
• Proficient in financial software and tools, such as ERP systems and Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize deadlines, and work well under pressure.
