We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant/Auditor to join a leading tax and accounting firm. What You'll Do
• Conduct Comprehensive Audits: Manage audits, reviews, and compilations from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.
• Risk Assessment: Review and assess financial risks to safeguard our clients' interests.
• Account Reconciliation: Match balances with bank reconciliations and investment statements, and maintain accurate fixed asset registers.
• Financial Testing and Reconciliation: Perform reconciliations of receivables, payables, cash, investments, debt, revenues, and expenses.
• Documentation Review: Verify balances and schedules against original source documents such as receipts, invoices, and letters of support.
• Grant and Loan Analysis: Review agreements, update debt schedules, and analyze payroll, benefits, and pension data.
• Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare financial statements, adjusting entries, and footnotes. Ensure all statements are balanced and reconcile with the trial balance.
• Audit Support: Complete checklists and work programs, link workpapers to the trial balance, and research audit principles.
• Team Collaboration: Review work of other staff members, answer questions, and keep the manager informed of your progress.
What We're Looking For
• Experience: At least 3 years of public accounting experience, with proven ability to complete audits, reviews, and compilations.
• Qualifications: CPA license or equivalent.
• Skills: Strong analytical, audit, and accounting skills. Familiarity with financial software (e.g., Thomson Reuters) and audit software (e.g., Workpaper CS) is a plus, though training will be provided.
• Knowledge: Experience with grants, contributions, and restricted funds is beneficial. Nonprofit and municipal experience, as well as single audit experience, are pluses.
• Work Style: Ability to work independently and as part of a team in both paperless and remote environments. Familiarity with file exchange software like ShareFile or DropBox is helpful.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey accounting information to clients.
