Associate Director – Medical Affairs Content Development
The Associate Director - Medical Affairs Content Development will lead the content creation and maintenance of materials for the Neuromuscular Therapeutic Area within the US Medical Affairs and Evidence Generation Community. This is a highly visible role within the Neuromuscular Therapeutic Area, and the individual will work in close partnership with Medical Directors, MSL Directors, MSLs, and Medical Training to develop strategically-aligned Medical Affairs content for use across a range of external and internal stakeholders.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures all Medical materials are relevant, scientifically accurate, and consistent with cited appropriate scientific literature, internal scientific information, and company values and standards
Helps identify digital innovation to support content development, access, and delivery including enhanced scientific engagement via remote channels
Ensure all appropriate stakeholders are involved in the development, review, and approval of materials.
Lead development of scientifically accurate, fair balanced slide decks for field medical teams based on strategic direction and field team needs, while utilizing the expertise of other argenx functions
Responsible for the localization of materials for the US affiliate while ensuring the information is aligned with local labeling
Manages materials through the US medical, legal, and regulatory review process
Ensure the highest degree of quality and medical accuracy for all outputs developed
Complete all work in accordance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and argenx policies
Exhibits broad knowledge of assigned therapeutic areas, product labeling, and regulatory guidance
Serves as medical affairs liaison to cross-functional groups for the incorporation of current medical/scientific information into department documents and processes
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Able to effectively network and partner with internal and external stakeholders and embrace cross-functional working
Strong operational capabilities, an eye for detail, and commitment to advance and adhere to processes
Demonstrated project management experience
Understand and demonstrate the importance of providing superior customer service to all clients to support the business
Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and when giving presentations
Able to thrive as part of a team and when working independently
Proven track record of delivering results that meet or exceed targeted objectives
Detailed understanding of industry regulations and practices relating to medical affairs
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent) in a scientific discipline
3+ years industry experience, working within Medical Affairs preferred
Experience managing vendors for content creation
Experience in componentized content creation is preferred
Experience in content management systems similar to Veeva Vault is preferred
Significant experience in pharmaceutical or biomedical writing and communications, including group facilitation and presentation to diverse audiences
