Description

Iona University, an NCAA Division I institution and a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Head Coach for its Softball program. This is a full-time, 12-month position and reports to the Director of Athletics. The Head Softball Coach will be responsible for developing, promoting and supervising all facets of the University's Softball program. This position will oversee the academic excellence of all student-athletes that are involved with the program, manage fundraising efforts, and provide a foundation, vision and leadership for Softball at Iona.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Training/Practice Preparation: Establish a vision for the program. Plan, prepare, and execute practice and game plans, strategies, and alternatives which are designed to bring success to the program.
• Game Preparation: Design a competitive schedule that maximizes athlete development and performances. Relate in a positive and effective manner with officials, opponents, parents, media, and the public.
• Recruiting: Recruit quality athletes capable of pursuing the baccalaureate degree in accordance with the rules and regulations of the governing bodies and in such a manner that reflects the best interests of the program and the University.
• Budgeting and Fundraising: Participate in the formulation of budget and ensure that the program operates within the approved budgetary parameters. Work in coordination with the Director of Finance and Senior Director of Development to meet the programs fundraising goals.
• Administrative Compliance: Ensure that all relevant institutional, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations are followed including, but not limited to, player eligibility, recruiting, financial student aid, scheduling, and academic progress. Assist the Associate AD/Compliance in preparing all required documentation.
• Staff Management: Make hiring and termination decisions for assistant coaching staff. Provide supervision, development, and evaluation of staff.
