Job Summary
As an Oracle/SQL Server DBA, you will be asked to support multiple databases ensuring data integrity, security, and stability.
Job Description
We are looking for an Oracle/SQL Server DBA. This position will be full-time and remote.
What You'll Do
- Monitor database performance, identify issues, and tune the database for optimal performance
- Ensure that data is appropriately protected via database backup and related strategies
- Load, or assist in loading of, database software, upgrade and patching
- Provide operational support for the database, ensuring data integrity, database availability, and performance
- Provide support and troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Develop and advise on standards, guidelines, policies, and procedures designed to ensure the integrity of the database environment
- Design and implement logical and physical databases of a moderately to large complex nature
- Monitor and tune database performance, including SQL scripts, hints, execution plans, and materialized views
What You'll Need
Required:
- 8+ years strong experience working with Oracle and SQL in a Windows environment
- Strong understanding of database architecture and performance tuning
- Experience with Backup and Recovery using Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN)
- Experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Automatic Storage Management (ASM), Active Data Guard
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Physical Demands
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
- Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
- Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
