Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Research Scientist- Protein biochemistry for a contract assignment with one of our premier Pharmaceutical services clients in South San Francisco, CA.
Responsibilities :
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Department of Antibody Engineering at the firm as a Research Scientist. The role will involve designing and conducting hands-on laboratory research as well as data processing and analysis. A significant portion of efforts will involve the experimental characterization of antibodies in efforts to accelerate drug development with machine-learning. The role will also involve close collaboration with computational groups in developing cutting edge in silico antibody design methods.
• Use of advanced molecular biology techniques for protein production.
• Coordinate protein expression and purification with other teams at the firm.
• Protein characterization using high-throughput screening platforms (ELISA, SPR, flow cytometry).
• Data processing and storage in centralized databases.
Required Skills:
• Bachelor's degree (BS) or Master's degree (MS) in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, related discipline.
• At least 2 years of research experience in protein biochemistry, protein engineering or related field.
• MUST HAVE Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR)
• Research experience with antibody-based molecular engineering and relevant datatypes (e.g., surface plasmon resonance data and deep sequencing datasets) is desirable but not essential.
• Demonstrated proficiency with molecular biology techniques.
• Proficiency in computer operations including scientific data analysis and database entry.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaborative settings.
