Java Lead API Engineer

What does a successful Java Lead API Engineer do at Fiserv?

You will be part of the engineering team building the Marketplace Boarding platform, designed to deliver innovations through simple, fast integrations. With developer-friendly, flexible communication standards, unified APIs, and integrations to multiple systems of Fiserv, including North, Diligence, Commerce Hub, and hardware systems.

What you will do:
• Develop roadmap and strategies to provide efficient automatic merchant boarding to Fiserv systems
• Analyze complex processes and technological heterogeneity in applications
• Design software solutions in the real-time Merchant boarding process
• Design and develop microservices for highly efficient protocol translation and enrichment with reactive design patterns
• Deliver end-to-end solutions for automating/simplifying Merchant Boarding
• Develop high throughput and high-volume boarding APIs that can be consumed by various banks and payment gateways
• Enhance API solutions to offer simple, easy-to-consume APIs for Merchant Boarding and Maintenance platform
• Participate in the development of roadmaps and strategies for documenting and presenting API specifications in an easy and consumable format

What you will need to have:
• 8+ years of experience in Java, GIT, JIRA, Maven, Confluence, Spring framework (Core, MVC, AOP, Java NIO)
• 7+ years of experience in Spring Boot framework
• 5+ years of experience implementing complex full-stack solutions including API and Microservices in large enterprise organizations
• 5+ years of experience with databases and code integrations such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL
• 4+ years of experience with Amazon applications like ELB, SQS, SES, SWF, SNS, and Dynamo DB
• 4+ years of experience creating unit tests using JUnit, Mockito
• 2+ years of Agile methodology and payments industry experience
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education, military, or work experience

What would be great to have:
• Experience in Play Framework
• Experience in implementing high-volume transactions processing applications
• Experience using Quality and Security scan tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, and WebInspect
• Experience in Integration Testing APIs with Postman, JMeter, etc.
• Experience with OAUTH2.0, Jax-B, Jax-RS
