What is the Opportunity?
In this position the Analyst will lead and support senior bankers in origination, syndication and execution of debt transactions for US Private Placements.
What will you do?
• Develop close working relationships with syndicate, sales, Corporate Banking and Investment Banking, coordinate in providing information for internal and external use.
• Participate in and manage resources in the preparation of market commentary and economic updates.
• Participate in and manage resources to track, compile and distribute new investment grade bond issuance information.
• Prepare and distribute indicative pricing information for clients.
• Generate and maintain client presentations; preparation of materials using PowerPoint, Word and Excel for client meetings.
• Liaise with traders to obtain pricing information in secondary markets and assist with special ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned.
• Preparation of materials using PowerPoint, Word and Excel for client meetings. Coordinate with Banking, Sales and Trading in providing information for internal and external use.
• Manage and direct desk analysts & interns.
• Provide coverage support for senior members of the desk.
• Selectively take a leading role in direct client coverage responsibilities.
• Analyze financial or operational performance of companies facing capital raising needs or financial difficulties to identify or recommend remedies.
• Assess Private Placement Bonds as investments for clients by examining bond economics profile.
• Interpret data on price, yield, stability, future investment-risk trends, economic influences, and other factors affecting fixed income securities;
• Interpret and manipulate data sets to illustrate technical reports and industry / economic developments in a visual manner.
• Collaborate with investment bankers to attract new corporate clients.
• Collaborate on projects with other professionals, such as lawyers, accountants, or public relations experts.
What do you need to succeed?
Basic Qualifications:
• 1+ year of experience
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Math or related field required
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills - able to analyze numbers very well
• Financial modeling experience is highly desired
• Knowledge of accounting and ability to interpret financial statements is a plus
• Advanced MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills are a must. Familiarity with Bloomberg is a plus
• Knowledge of general capital markets as well as interest in DCM specific market
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to prioritize work and multi-task responsibilities including working for multiple people
• Overall positive attitude with willingness to perform beyond what is being asked
• Strong work ethic
• Strong abilities in preparing thoughtful presentations
• Series 7, 63, 79, SIE certified (can be obtained upon hire)

• Take on increasing responsibility for client dialogue and for final product, ensuring work-product from other teams / junior resources is relevant and client specific, as well as, error free
• Continue to independently originate value-added ideas for our clients and specific market opportunities to discuss across our client base
• Proactively identify operational risks / control deficiencies in the business
• Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities
• Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions on a timely basis
