The Quality Control Manager plans, coordinates, and directs a quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards. The QC Manager develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product. The QC Manager implements written procedures and documentation for all quality related functions. The QC Manager is in charge and is accountable for creating as well as executing quality control and management methods and systems.
Responsibilities:
Formulates and maintains quality control objectives .
Coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
Directs, through intermediate personnel, workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability. May investigate and adjust customer complaints regarding quality. Effective leadership capability to lead projects.
Fundamental knowledge of software and understanding concerning concepts, equipment and various other quality management techniques.
Establishes quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with other members of management and with production operators, technicians, and engineers.
Establishes raw material standards by studying manufacturing and engineering requirements; conferring and negotiating with suppliers; devising testing methods and procedures.
Establishes in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods; devising testing methods and procedures.
Establishes standards for the disposition of finished product by devising evaluation tests, methods, and procedures.
Establishes rework standards by devising inspection and physical testing methods and procedures. Establishes product quality documentation system by writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
Maintains product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures and government requirements; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs and manufacturing and training methods.
Prepares product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Completes quality assurance operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
Maintains quality assurance staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Maintains quality assurance staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Achieves financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; Initiating corrective actions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in business administration or relevant field. 2-3 years in Quality,
and Quality control certification.
