Provider Services Assistant

California Department of Health Care Services

Job Description And Duties

About this Role:

The Office of Family Planning (OFP), within the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), is responsible for the administration of the Family Planning, Access, Care, and Treatment (Family PACT) program, development of family planning policy across all Medi-Cal family planning and reproductive health programs, and participation in broader DHCS quality initiatives within the Department and other state agencies and programs. The Provider Services Section of OFP is responsible for the enrollment, education, and compliance oversight of Family Planning, Access, Care, and Treatment (Family PACT) program providers. The Family PACT program provides comprehensive family planning and reproductive health services to eligible low-income Californians of childbearing age through a network of enrolled Family PACT providers.

The Student Assistant (SA) performs the less technical tasks and may complete less difficult analyses in providing program support to the Provider Services section and OFP. The Student Assistant is expected to consistently exercise a high degree of initiative and independence and have excellent organizational, analytical, research, and writing skills. The SA will assist in the coordination of the Family PACT program administrative activities, including the provider tracking and filing system; assist with the Family PACT program’s provider applications; respond to program inquiries regarding program requirements and instructions to on-board into the program; research and respond to inquiries from the public, Stakeholders, and Family PACT clients related to general program information, access to care, and Family PACT and Medi-Cal family planning program policies and procedures; assist with the electronic depository of enrollment, training, compliance, and policy documents and related correspondences on the OFP SharePoint site.
